What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation.

The word Reiki translates as connection or harmony (Rei) with the essential life force (Ki or Chi). Perhaps the best definition of Reiki is Spiritually Guided Energy

How does Reiki “work”?

Reiki can facilitate healing by encouraging relaxation, releasing subtle blockages in and balancing the the flow of chi. An hour, half hour or even just 15 minutes to breathe and notice where tensions live brings awareness and subtle changes that balance, refresh and facilitate the body’s natural ability to heal.

Consciousness of the energy or of the Reiki recipient, directs the effects to their highest and best use whatever that may be. Reiki works –whether it’s “believed in” or not, just as electricity or plumbing are working whether or not you are currently using them. While Reiki invokes a specific energetic path and technique, it is only one of the infinite possibilities of healing energy modalities.

Reiki is not a religious practice.

While it can complement a personal connection to God-consciousness, Reiki is energetic in nature. Reiki practitioners can be of any, or no religious faith, as can the recipient of the Reiki energy.
